Enhancement of Photosynthetic Output

We have discovered novel gene networks and multiple transcriptional regulators of those networks that control core photosynthetic output in a number of different ways. One of these, shown at the right, acts by directly regulating the chlorophyll content and density of chloroplasts, the organelles within plant cells that capture solar energy. We have filed patent applications on the transcription factors that control such networks regulating photosynthetic output.
